Hourly financial planning

You pay for the time you need - nothing more.

Our financial planning process

  • We start by getting a clear picture of where you are: income, savings, debts, what you own and what you owe. No judgment, no agenda. Just an honest look at your starting point.

  • We'll talk about what you're actually trying to accomplish: retirement, a business exit, paying for college, building a cushion. Goals don't have to be perfectly formed. We'll help you turn a general direction into something specific enough to plan around.

  • With your situation and goals in hand, we look at the gap between where you are and where you want to be. That includes your risk tolerance, your tax situation, and what the numbers actually support.

  • A plan that doesn't get executed isn't worth much. We'll work through the steps together: adjusting your investments, setting up the right accounts, or coordinating with your tax filing. We handle more of this in-house than most advisors can

  • Your situation will change. Markets move, life happens, and plans need to adapt. We check in regularly and adjust as needed, not on a rigid schedule, but when it actually matters.

Start from scratch

Most people come to financial planning with a general sense that they should have a plan, but no clear picture of where to start. We'll build one together — starting with where you actually stand today, then working through goals, priorities, and what's realistic given your timeline and resources. Because Flying Point also handles tax planning and preparation, your financial plan and your tax situation stay connected from the start — not treated as separate problems by separate advisors.

Custom engagement

Some clients don't need a full plan — they need a clear answer to a specific question. A portfolio review. A Roth conversion analysis. A second opinion on a business decision. If you have a defined question or project in mind, we can scope an engagement around what you actually need. Custom engagements start with a $1,500 retainer applied toward your hours at $300 per hour. There's no ongoing commitment unless that's what makes sense for your situation.

Build a plan that works for you

Financial planning at $300 per hour. New clients begin with a $1,500 retainer — enough to get through discovery and into real analysis — applied in full toward your engagement. After that, you use us when you need us.
